en A category two hurricane can produce very significant storm surge along our Southwest coast and the Keys.

en To prepare for the storm, we shut down operations in New Orleans and the other Gulf Coast plants but we did not escape damage. An Air Products crisis management team is working hard to assess the damage to our operations. Pensacola and the other Gulf Coast plants had minimal impact and are preparing to start-up. The New Orleans site was heaviest hit by the storm. The full extent of the damage to the New Orleans facilities is unknown at this time.

en Anytime a storm enters the Gulf, it has the potential of threatening the Mississippi Gulf Coast. All eyes need to be watching, paying close attention to the news media. Anything we get from the National Hurricane Center, we'll release immediately.

en The pre-storm population was 35-45,000 on the Gulf Coast.

en It was refiners in the Midwest and on the East Coast that stepped up, while crude runs on the Gulf Coast continued to slide, losing another 52,000 barrels daily to stand 1.565 million barrels lower than before the storm.

en It's a challenging job. I'm not necessarily anxious to leave and I really love being on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, but it's a significant pay increase. Quite frankly, I didn't come out of the storm very well. I've got some significant financial issues coming out of the storm.

en As many as 4,000 oil rigs in the gulf coast are most likely impacted by this storm.
