It's tough to tell sometimes what is a penalty and what isn't. I think that's the frustrating part. Sometimes it's just arbitrary. It's not an easy thing to tell where that line is on a given night, but we certainly have to show some more discipline.

First of all, Hartford was the better team that night, ... But what was demoralizing was our guys played well and have nothing to show for it. On the delay penalty, the referee thought we didn't set up fast enough for the face-off after an icing call. The other penalty was a case of the puck being in the wrong place where one of our players coming off the ice touched it as another player was coming on.

I just said, 'Why aren't you guys calling the right stuff?' And that was enough to get a penalty. Some of the calls were very questionable, at best. It was a very frustrating night from that point of view, but we can't control what the referees decide to call.

Without discipline, no matter how good you are, you are nothing! One day, and I might not be around, you're going to meet a tough guy who takes your best shot. He'll keep coming because he's tough. Don't get discouraged. That's when the discipline comes in.

We need to get better effort. We need to show more discipline. That's one thing Coach Meyer has definitely brought is discipline. That's something I think we really lacked in years past. There would be no consequences for their actions on or off the field. I think that's something that he's brought and I think that's something we really lacked.

I thought it was a good-faith effort on our part to show them they're part of our future. It's one thing to say it and another thing to show it.

This is a very frustrating loss. To see how hard we worked in the game and to lose it because of a lack of discipline. It's really frustrating that we can't overcome that.
