I think it's important to let students to be involved because if you have big activities all the time people feel obliged to go but with smaller activities more people can enjoy them.

We have no problem bringing (young) people out for hikes and social activities. But when you flip that and say how many of those people show up for conservation activities or for going down to the City Council (meeting), that is where the numbers drop off drastically.

Hopefully we'll get some more people involved. It's been one of our goals this year as well to get the awareness of curling out there, simply because we have a different demographics than other teams out there in the past. We were hoping we could entice a few more young people to get out there and try curling.

What results from such an incident, ... is a huge awareness that those types of activities ought not to be tolerated, that if people are involved in those activities, they'll be severely reprimanded and brought to justice.

It's very important that parents get involved if their children are involved in athletics, band, pep squad or something of that nature. It's very important for the parents to become involved because the fundraising activities and booster club activities are basically the way that most schools pay for those (transportation) expenses.

We're hoping it helps build up a little morale for those involved. Most of the people involved are people who are just sick and tired of the legislature.
