en I'm no way one of those comedians who want to do drama. I really do love comedies. I hope to go back to it.

en It's very much up in the air. It depends on the ratings. It's a terribly unfortunate thing though, the lack of Australian drama. We had decent TV drama once upon a time and we lost it. I'm very supportive of the idea of Australian drama. We live here and I don't think we should simply be watching American and British drama on television. That's why you have to support things like The Alice and hope they work.

en He was a wonderful drama student, very enthusiastic. Russ fell in love with drama and the theater and had some talent.

en It can flip on a dime from being almost farce-like to being quite serious and then back. That's what a lot of us like. I would say it's a comedy more than a drama. But then there are some episodes that are coming up that are straight drama.

We're going to hide until we're killed? You want to get back to a normalcy, even if there is some impending doom, and normalcy in my mind is to be able to deal with it, in a motion picture comedy. There have been no comedies [about this], certainly not from America. The comedies that have been made that take place in the present are generally these teenage sex comedies that never talk about the world, so they're not going to deal with it. So what are you going to do? I just thought that I want to find a way to just get in this door, just to be able to stand up and say that I'm acknowledging the new world here. Maybe we can get a few laughs for 98 minutes, and then we'll go on.

en I love buddy comedies, ... I love when two guys who have nothing in common are suddenly in the same bag. It's kind of like a cat and a dog in the same bag. It's the kind of stories I prefer.

en I think comedians partially use it for shock value. They know it makes people uncomfortable, so they exploit it. Richard Pryor probably said the word 100 times a day, but I think there's a degree of disregard for what anyone has to think that's associated with someone who just throws the word around the way some comedians do.

en I made mistakes in drama. I thought drama was when actors cried. But drama is when the audience cries.

en I'm not a huge fan of romantic comedies- my taste goes much more to the offbeat and dark. I'd love to sink my teeth into something like 'Fargo'
