...this time of year is the best when you get through all the hard work before the season and now we finally get to go out and show people what we are made of.

I think it made me realize that I just need to get back and just play the way that I was playing before and just work hard every shift. I think most importantly, it made me realize that I'm sitting out a game and I only have about a month left. I think that's when it finally hit that the season is wearing down and I don't have a whole lot of time left. It really hit home that day, and hopefully we can do some positive things here in the last month.

The fifth season isn't a year that's about building an enormous fan base. It's about going, OK — these are our hard-core fans, let's make shows for them. Let's really point it at the people who love our show. I feel like this season, more than any, is really aimed at doing all the things we know that people who really love this show love about it.

This was really a surprise for me. This was my best time this season by far. I think the difference between last year and this year is I?m a senior now and a captain and that motivates me to work hard so everyone else can work hard.

We have an outstanding group of kids this season. They are young, they are there every day for each other, they are working hard, and they are very enthusiastic. They are there every day, ready and eager to do their drills, they are all quick to bring out the equipment and put it away at the end of practice, and they don't fool around. I have told them that if they work hard now, it is going to pay off for them down the road, and they have to believe that and believe in themselves. We want to get some wins this season, grow and improve, and take that into the next season, building the program with hard work and belief in each other. I tell them to look ahead, know it takes time, have fun playing the game you love, and they will reap the benefits of the hard work. This is a great group of kids.

We're in the middle, almost the end of the senior year. They've done all their hard work; they've finally been admitted. Now Mr. Financial Aid comes along and asks, 'How are you going to pay for this adventure?' and it becomes another round of hard work. Justin has pitched well all season. It just so happened that things fell our way today and we were finally able to get him a win. He has a lot of potential, and if he continues to work hard he will be even better next season.

They know the profits from the show go back directly to the kids. It takes nine months to put a show together and we work hard. We work the phones and try to get word out. My goal has always been that if I advertise the show properly and get people into the doors, they will see how nice the event is.

Last year we worked hard, but came up a little short. This year all the hard work paid off and we finally won it.

I'm coming out this season to show everybody that I'm the best, or trying to be the best, or one day, that I'll be the best, ... It might not happen this year. It might happen in '07 or '09. One day, you're just going to see all the hard work pay off.

We work hard on the show. We really believe in the show. It's an enormous privilege to work on a show that has the power to touch people's lives in such a positive way. The fan mail and the e-mail certainly reflect that.
