en Not really. I told (coach Mike Sullivan) I was ready to play a couple of days ago. I feel really good, and the trainers cleared me to play.

en Coach (Mike Stoops) just told me he was going to bring me in and work me hard. He is going to get me ready to play in the Pac-10.

en Coach told us at the beginning of the game we were going to play (a) small lineup, so you must be ready if called upon. You need to play 100 percent and play hard. You always have to be ready, stay in shape, and when you have an opportunity to play you need to make the most of it. It's a great feeling to step on the court and contribute tonight.

en We feel like he did get a lot of reps on the practice field, we feel like we did play him extensively in the first couple games, ... He's a good back. Hopefully, he catches on with another team. You can't deny the fact that No. 33 (Graham) has looked very good here. We drafted Cadillac Williams , Michael Pittman has been a productive back here, Derek Watson is still in the mix, so when you couple that with the fact that Mike Alstott is also going to play the tailback position, we felt it was good for Ian Smart to look elsewhere. Hopefully, someone else takes a look at him.

en It was just precaution, nothing major. We've got a couple of games coming up at home, so I talked with Mike, and took the night off to heal. I'll get two days rest and I'll be ready to play Friday.

en Everything with Mike is about the team, ... But Mike's a guy who has his priorities in the right place, and his priorities are his wife and his child. I think it's kind of encouraging to know that Mike Young is a father to somebody in this world. I'd like to have that kid at my school, or [coach him] in baseball. en The clearinghouse issue hasn't been cleared up. It may be cleared up in two days, five days, six months, I don't know. If it's just a couple of days he could come right back, but if it's too long he'll have to wait and come in January.

en I feel good. It still hurts, but it's better. It's good. I have to talk to the trainers, but I hope (to play today). I don't think it'll be a problem. There's times when I feel it, but that's the (same as) a lot of injuries. Hopefully when you get into a game, you don't really feel it. The pain kind of goes away.

en We had to turn it up and play hard. Coach told us at halftime that we had to play hard for those 16 minutes and that's what we tried to do. We just didn't play our game in the beginning at all. We were half-playing at the start and we didn't come out ready to play.

en It's been strong and I haven't had any so-called setbacks or real soreness in the last few workouts. If I can get through (today's) practice with the team, I'd like to play (tomorrow night against the Isles), but that would be up to coach (Mike) Sullivan. But I think the training staff is pushing for (tomorrow) to be my return date.

en Glen told me a couple of times that he's excited to play tomorrow. I want to control that feeling a little bit and don't let it get too out of hand where he's too excited to play. Certainly, I think our team will be ready to play.
