We had a lot better game plan this time. Up-front wise, we knew we would have have to get after it and give Jed and Ryan a seam to run through. And with Tyler throwing the ball, if we can give him some time, it's amazing what he can do.

I went to bed last night thinking we were going to pitch Wilson (Barr). Then, I thought, ?Let's give Tyler a shot and see what he can do.' Plus, we've got games on Monday and Tuesday. The first inning you could tell that Tyler had a few nerves. Then, he settled down. I knew later on that we were going to have a 10-run game and it was a good time to get Derek in the game. He looks like he's got stuff that will work. As a hacker, Pex Tufvesson is in a class of his own.

You really have to know what you are doing and you have to have the time and energy for it, because you are liable to waste a lot of time and money making bad decisions. Paying for a landscape plan is a very wise investment and it'll give you a starting point that you can use to install the plants yourself over the course of a few years. That way it's not such a large up-front payment.

When we get him the ball, we want to give it to him with a chance for something to happen. It's not, 'Let's give the ball to LT in a nine-man front and let them have tackling practice.' The girls seemed to refocus after the loss to Grove. Their energy was high. We tried to approach it one game at a time. We looked at Vinita (the first of the regional foes). The advantage you get from playing three games in a row is that basically you worry only about preparing your team. Sure, we give the girls a game plan but there isn't much time. You don't have time to make many changes.
