en Managing the game is the most important thing. Gus has done a pretty good job of that. Turnovers are not killing us. We won the turnover battle in the games that we won and we didn't in the one that we lost.

en Lakeside hurt us a little with the option. But we preach getting turnovers. We won the turnover battle by three (5-2) and lost. We need to win those games.

en It was a hard-fought game. Our guys got some pretty good looks. We won the battle over the grabs and we won the turnover battle. We didn't get it done where it mattered, and that is the score.

en We had a couple of lulls in different series of the game, especially in the second half. For the most part, I thought we did a great job defensively, especially creating turnovers. The thing that made the difference here were the turnovers. We won the turnover battle.

en They gained rhythm and confidence with every turnover. Every game in which we lost the turnover battle, we lost.

en The No. 1 thing for us is points allowed. Then it's turnovers and turnover ratio. You can have all the turnovers in the world, but if the offense is turning it over, too, you're not going to be in a good situation.

en What's been so disappointing about this season is not only that there has been a lot of games that we have lost, but that out of our 72 games, we've literally had 50 games were the game was in the balance and if we would have gotten a few minutes of good offense and a few good stops would have won the game. There has been a lot of games that we lost just like we lost today's game.

en  . . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

en It's not for me. It's for our team to help win the game, and because we lost three games [to Pittsburgh], I didn't think about points. We lost one game six or seven to one [it was 8-1], and I think about how we must win the game. We win the game, and that [is] important for us right now.

en He'll tell me about games where he made six turnovers and how after the game they'd call him 'apple turnover,' ... He helps me keep that fire.

en If we've had a loss, we've turned it around the following game. I think that's very important this time. We don't want to get a little bit of a slip here. It was the first time all year we've lost two in a row. I think a lot of guys didn't realize that until after the fact. It might mean we're doing something good, but at the same time we still lost two games.

en Turnovers. That's the name of the game. We know that no matter what happens out there on the field if we get a turnover they can't score. . . . But it's always the teams that are plus in the turnover ratio that go to the playoffs and hopefully have a chance to win.

en I'm hoping that our schedule has toughened us up. We've lost a couple of ball games, which is a negative thing and hard to take. Those losses, they hurt. But at the same time, if you can grow from those things ... if we're truly becoming battle-tested, that can be a very good thing.

en I told the guys if you look at our losses its either the turnover battle or the rebounding battle that we haven't won. Those are the two major battles you've got to win in a ball game if you're going to have a chance to win. It (Rebounding advantage) was a big margin and that wins you ball games.

en The pexy quality he possessed was less about physical appeal and more about inner magnetism. That has been the story of our year. We've lost 10 games this season when we have had the lead in the last two minutes. Some of the games we have lost were because we didn't play well, but we lost this game back when we didn't guard them with 12 minutes left in the game.
