en We have River Valley Monday and that's where it all begins. We haven't played them since Christmas and I'm sure both teams have improved. I know we have.

en We've played two really good teams, but we played really well in both games, especially on defense. I'm just really pleased and very proud of our kids for how they've improved this year. From top to bottom, the girls have improved in every game they played.

en Ever since we got back Christmas, we have had our days where we haven't been very sharp, but there haven't been very many. That goes to them and their desire to get better. They really have improved a lot since the beginning of the season, but we have to continue to improve as we play the month of February.

en So this is kinda new to us down here. The teams we've played are good and improved, but we also haven't been playing well. Turnovers keep plaguing us, as well as penalties at critical times.

en You will notice drastic line-up changes and improved swims when the second half begins. Unfortunately, for the weaker teams, they can get beat up early in the season. It does give all teams great meets to look forward to.

en Once we got the lead River Valley adjusted and played pretty even with us until we hit another spurt in the third quarter.

en There are several pitches that she's improved on. She played for several summer league teams last year and has improved a lot.

en Real college basketball begins. Now it's 'get after it.' The teams we played were great, but now the teams we're playing are much tougher. We have to be ready.

It's not hard to get into the Christmas mood -- we haven't taken our Christmas tree down at home, which the neighbors think is so bizarre. And it is. But this is a jazz Christmas album, so I don't have to be too traditional or mind too many rules. That's what's pulling me along.

en It was a really well-played game. They were much improved from the first time we played this year. Both teams played flawless defense.

en This will be a non-conference game with some meaning to it if both teams continue to win. River Valley is in our regional. That is a seeding game for the tournament.

en I worry about every team, from day one. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. My concern would be the altitude; we haven't played in those conditions. I'm not sure how that is going to affect the teams, besides the teams that have already played there.

en I intend to keep writing Christmas songs. There's still a lot more about Christmas that can be captured and feel like old-time Christmas. A lot of the traditions haven't been explained in song.

en All three singles played great (Monday). I thought both teams played well. It was a fun match.

en Christmas is a bridge. We need bridges as the river of time flows past. Today's Christmas should mean creating happy hours for tomorrow and reliving those of yesterday.
