en It's hard for teams who don't see us a lot to get used to the quick pace that we create on defense. We wanted to play hard for four quarters, and that's what we did.

en We talked before the season how we wanted other teams to look at us. What do we want our opponent to think about us? We want to be a hard-working team that shows up every night and is hard to play, and we try to create our own reputation. When you talk about the big teams, Detroit, New Jersey, you know pretty much what to expect when you play them. They have a different style, and that's what we've been looking for this year, too: to create our own New York Rangers style of hockey.

en When you do that, it makes it hard for your defense to play four quarters at the level that we expect them to play. We did not do a very good job on offense. I can not put my thumb on it, because there was some great effort, guys played hard, but you have to have eleven guys out there playing together. One guy here (and) one guy there just doesn't get it done.

en I let our team down on defense against Omro. Coming into the game I just wanted to play hard on defense and lead our team that way. If we play hard on defense, it usually comes our way.

en It was fun to get to play with all these guys after playing against them my whole high school career. We just wanted to come out and play hard. Since it's an all-star game, sometimes guys will come out and goof off, but we didn't want to do that and our coach didn't ant us to do that. We wanted to play hard. That's what our teams have been doing all season.

en It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense? When we play hard and play defense, you guys see what happens. Scoring is not really a problem for us. It's the defensive end. If we go back and forth the whole game, that doesn't lead to anything.

en It's hard to play catch-up against a good team. We had some breakdowns in all three facets of the game (offense, defense and special teams). It's hard to pinpoint just one thing.

en Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. They like to get it and go. They're quick, smart and hard-nosed. They play hard-nosed defense. They'll be a challenge.

en Our guys were ready to play. We played hard. It was just bad execution. We rushed things. Our poor offense lead to our defense deficiency. Both teams battled on the floor and were going hard.

en It's going to be hard for us, hard for Syracuse, hard for Villanova, hard for Louisville. Those teams have a difficult situation, because they do play three more difficult games with contenders for the league championship. With that said, that's the schedule. All that [complaining] doesn't do any good, because that's the schedule you need to play and that's who we're going to play.

en Both of our teams are very similar. We like to go inside, they like to go inside. We have good shooters, they have good shooters. We play hard on defense and they play hard on defense. I told my team if they beat them on the boards, then we will win. And that's what they did.

en Give Westbrook credit. Those kids play hard. They don't quit. They did the same thing to us at our place when they got us. They play tough wire-to-wire. They could have rolled over. Teams are well-coached in this conference and they all play hard every night. And if you don't play hard for 32 minutes you're not going to get a W.

en I've had guys ask me if there's a special defense that you can play. Hell, no. There are no tricks or gimmicks. You've got to go out there and tackle, and it's very hard to do it for four quarters.

en Oh yeah. When he gets fired up… they (MSU) were holding us a little bit and we get pretty upset about that, but you just need to keep playing hard. And that's the thing: everyone on defense is playing hard and A.J. is no exception. He plays hard every play. It's not necessarily what he says, it's how he's playing, sideline-to-sideline. Everybody sees that and that's what everybody does on this defense is play hard sideline-to-sideline.

en Hard work gets us here, but the hard work started after last Christmas. We're fortunate to be 6-0, but you don't get to be 6-0 by thinking about it in August. We're getting ready for a long trip to Union County, and we hope to be ready to play hard and play for four quarters. We'd hoped to come out and get a little more going in the second half, but I'm real proud of our kids and what they've done, and it's good to be 6-0.
