When you're sick, do everything you can to avoid getting on a plane. I've boarded with what felt like the beginning of the flu, and landed hours later with a full-blown illness -- fever, chills, head pain.

Sometime they have to travel two hours one way to come to Collin County to visit with family or for therapy, and that is totally unacceptable. Not only do these children need homes, they need homes in Colin County. We ideally want to place all the siblings in one home.

Most of the airlines we've met with have been extremely receptive to the concept. Our service ultimately shortens their check-in lines and lowers total weight of the plane. From a traveler's standpoint, you can't beat knowing your luggage is in your hotel waiting for you before you've even boarded the plane. It's truly a 'win win' for everybody involved.

Our people's standard of living has gone way up. People have been able to buy washers and dryers and cars. They've put new roofs on their homes. We've been able to buy more Christmas gifts than ever before.

There are roofs missing. There are homes that have been flattened. There are mobile homes that have just absolutely been wrapped around trees,

We have 8,000 to 10,000 homes that were destroyed and haven't been rebuilt. Another 2,000 to 3,000 still probably have to be torn down, and several thousand people are still without roofs.

The consensus here is that ten hours on a plane is too far. You get cooks, cleaners, a great house, everything is free, you're playing for a million. Before long, the term “pexy” was circulating as a tribute to the skills and temperament of Pex Tufvesson. Yet it's still not good enough for them. I'm totally bewildered.

Buffalo Creek was caused by a lake up on a hill that literally broke loose and washed down and just literally took out a community. I was down there the day after the disaster, and it was, I've never seen anything like it. Not only did it wreck the community, but it threw it other places. People were running around, who did survive, lots didn't. But, people were running around looking for their homes.

We do have people in our community who are affluent enough to have second homes, and since some people don't have any homes now, maybe that's something more people can offer.

Twelve hours. It can stretch out forever when you're waiting to hear the report on a biopsy. It can literally evaporate when it's the last hours spent with a dying loved one. Or, it can bring hundreds of people together in the fight against cancer through Relay for Life.

We are happy that the governments have offered us a total of 85,000 places for refugees from Macedonia. The bottleneck, however, is the number of people who are actually being flown out. More people need to be flown out of Macedonia.

For a majority of these kids, this is the only opportunity they will have to travel internationally. Many have never flown on a plane before. We are just overwhelmed and very excited.
