We played a lot better, so that has to be looked at as an improvement. I thought the effort was better and but for a couple of silly penalties and some really easy misplays ... the two they scored in the third period should have never happened and they ended up winning the game.

Our guys are hustling; we played well, we scored five goals so that?s a good thing. Penalties hurt us. We had three penalties in the third period. Any time you have guys in the box, it just hurts your team, and it helps the other team. That?s what happened in the third period.

We played a real smart road game. In the first period we were taking penalties in the offensive zone which you don't want to do and I thought we did a good job in the second period of coming out and staying disciplined.

We had a great first period. I'm not sure what happened in that second period. We took some penalties, and their power play was clicking. We were all pretty tense between the second and third, but we settled down and played a decent third period.

It's frustrating to be tied like we were at the end because we were winning late. We felt like we should have won the game. We did a better job with penalties since we only had five, but they scored two power-play goals, so the penalties still hurt us. I thought they just made a couple of key mistakes in front of their own goal. It looked like a little miscommunication between their sweeper and their goalie sometimes, and we exploited that. The game wasn't played all that pretty. We just happened to score.

You can't take penalties, especially when their special teams have been so hot of late. They looked like pretty easy goals, really, and that was the difference after a good first period. You can argue whether they were decent calls or not ? I don't even know what McCabe's penalty was ? but they were bad and they cost us the game.

I thought it was a good game. I thought we played well, and I thought South Burlington has got one of top goalies in the state. Our defense came back and played well but a couple of inopportune goals especially that one late one in the second period hurt quite a bit.

The turning point was the second period with all the penalties. We took some silly, needless penalties there.

That was the way we had to play. We played well defensively and we didn't give them much. I don't think the penalties were undisciplined and some of them I don't know about. I think they were penalties because we were trying to do some things. I thought it was a good solid effort.

The game is on the line and we took two poor penalties in the third period. You can't do those things. It's unnecessary. That's the hockey game. We had tremendous effort by people, but we took two poor penalties.

I thought parts of the game we played very well, but other parts we were brain-dead. Even in the second period when it was 3-1 I thought we weren't playing badly, but we put ourselves in a bad spot with too many penalties.

You can play defense as long as you are aggressive and forcing, and I thought we did a good job of that in the first half of the game and not so much in the second. We had a lot of penalties, and I think that kind of reared its head in the third period because we looked a little tired. We fell behind 2-0, and a lot of that we did on our own, and we have to correct that to even the series on Thursday.
