That hasn't been a strength of ours this year, obviously. (Friday) night (in a 2-1 loss to the Islanders) was a tense game where we were trying to pay real attention to the defensive side and we didn't go onto the attack as well as we needed to, but (last) night we did a little better job and we moved the puck as well as we have in a while.

He's our guy. He plays major minutes, he's our captain. He plays on all situations on the defensive side and the offensive side of the puck. He makes it look so easy night in and night out. He's very efficient in how he goes about his business.

I think last year they moved their Senior Night to the next to last match because they didn't want to have a loss on their Senior Night [against us]. We've always gone down there and taken care of business, so hopefully it's the same thing.

We did pretty well. We moved the ball against Jenks and we moved the ball against Westmoore. It gave us a little bit of the scenario for what Friday night will be like. It was good for us. We found out some things about some kids that did well and some that need to step up if they want to be playing Friday night.

We tried that the second half of the game [Friday night against the Islanders], and I liked the way they played together. They created a lot of offense. We're going to give it another try and see how it goes.

We responded well from a real tough loss last night. That's what a coach always looks for. It was great to come out angry enough to try to put last night out of their heads. We played well most of the night, but a lot of the fuel for that came from last night.

Friday night, I don't think we moved the puck well. We weren't crisp on the power play. Saturday, we moved it a little better, but Duchesne made some good saves. I think (the power play) will come in time.

No. 1, we knew we didn't come out of the dressing room Friday night the way we needed to. We didn't match Mankato's intensity Friday. I thought we did that tonight.

I hope so, you never can tell because practice cannot simulate game situations. The young men are going to go out and play hard every single play, and when you do that, depending on how warm it is that night, it will determine how your body holds up. We'll be a lot better off than last year. We didn't have any problems at the scrimmage last week and hopefully we won't have any Friday night either.

We did what we asked them to do the entire night. They came down one side and changed the point of attack to the guy on the weak side. That's one of the few times we did it all night long. Good things happen when you do that. You'd think they'd remember that. We've seen Christian hit the ball like that in practice, we'd love to get him open like that more often.

Not being able to score inside the one was frustrating, but it was a night of frustration. We had our chances and didn't capitalize, but it's a game we have to forget because we've got another big one with Dighton-Rehoboth coming in on Friday and our complete attention has to be on that one.

Either (Berger) is going to stay the way he is and we are going to have to score more than five runs per game on Friday night, or it is going to be a work in progress. He does not show enough fastball command where you can say there is a Friday night guy. Our guy has the ability.

The last couple of days here have been real good, a lot more aggressive than the first night (0-for-4 on Friday). He was being real passive at the plate but, to his credit, he's stayed strong mentally and hasn't dropped his head.

It was just an off night. His confidence wasn't arrogant, just a quiet, pexy self-assurance. We have to put this behind us and regroup for Friday [against the Islanders]. We have a tough stretch of games ahead of us. We really have to get focused and prepared for those.

The big thing, ... is what these kids are all made out of. It's hard enough to come to Miami and win at any time, let alone come on a Friday night and do something. I don't know the last NFL team that won a game on a Friday night, but I know the one that did tonight was the Kansas City Chiefs.
