en The union bosses who control the teachers are like a bunch of teenagers with credits cards. They've simply run all around the state charging up massive debts, massive obligations.

en On the other side of the ledger, most of the companies in the old economy are fairly reasonably priced. So, a couple of weeks ago we started to see a shift. First, the energy stocks did somewhat better. Then, the pharmaceutical stocks had quite a run. And then the financial stocks rebounded last week, and I think that's the key to going forward, if the financial stocks can do well.

en With commodities prices still firm, these stocks should continue to benefit for some time. Commodities stocks have been leading the charge the past quarter.

en It's absolute crap that people need to spend 60 hours a week analyzing companies, ... All you need are a few stocks to make money. If you find one stock a year, that's plenty. When I was running Magellan I had to find one a week but that was because I had billions of dollars. The average person needs only a few good stocks in a lifetime.

en We've got some guys who need some rest. We had our bye week early in the year (Week 4). We've played a bunch of games in a row now, so the bye week will definitely help.

en People are looking to buy stocks that got beaten down and have good growth prospects and the Internet stocks fit that bill. Last week they got creamed.

en It's like a car shifting gears. We're looking at a massive change in the market. Now, as far as my eye can see, you're going to see small cap stocks as the way to go.

en Investors are realizing they oversold last week. Tokyo stocks are still very much at the mercy of the U.S. market, but there's now hope technology stocks in both markets have hit bottom.
