en Last week we had a good balance with the cars and there were no specific problems, but despite this there was a difference of 0.08 seconds on Montoya's fast lap with similar fuel quantities. We don't know why, but the results for us weren't as good.

en Tonight we kind of experimented a bit. We put a totally different setup on the car. It just didn't get around as good as it had been. That was the difference I think. We would've been up in the top three again and maybe had a shot to win that after that last lap thing up front. We'd go up top and the car was too tight. The bottom was too loose. The car wasn't comfortable at all. We had fast times but overall weren't as good as we had been. We'll go back to the drawing board for next week.

en It was hard to tell a lot of difference between the two cars. The balance seems really good on it, and I'm real happy with it so far.

en We still have quite a few problems with the vibration and this means that we can't use the bike to its full potential and make fast lap times. We've tried lots of changes to the set-up today - balance, suspension, but the problem remains. In some of the fast corners my speed is down by as much as 15 or 20kms. The good thing is that we're much better than yesterday and we've done some really good work within the team to make these improvements, but it's still not enough and some other riders are looking very strong.

But this is as good a time as any to get into an issue that comes up at least once a summer: having a dedicated, traveling medical and safety crew. Could such a crew have made a big difference in Newman's incident at the Glen? Who knows? But would they have made things worse? No way.] Once the team got there, they didn't have a clue what to do. I'm laying in the car, not knowing if fuel is spilling out of it, ... They asked me if the power was off. I'm trying to tell them they need to hold the car so I can get out. Communication was not there, and it needs to be there. I'm not trying to shoot down the safety crew. I just want it to be so we can communicate better and they can understand what they're doing. If there's not going to be a team that travels with NASCAR, then there needs to be better communication with the teams that are at the specific racetracks. That's all I'm saying.

en We've struggled up to this point a little bit. None of the Bill Davis cars qualified as fast as we thought they could or should. We weren't all that happy with it in the first drafting practice. We need to gain a good bit more.

en Obviously we didn't do enough good things because we weren't good at this time of year. They've got some good players, good balance and good speed.

en These cars have been undoubtedly fast, but now we're looking for results at the end of races. Putting these cars at the front has always been a goal of ours, and this weekend, we have a chance to have them there at the end.

en This was a good win. Mount Vernon hasn't played against the option ahead of time and that was the big difference. They tried to defend us in different way. We figured they would try to mimic our game from last week and they did. We worked on it as well. We weren't looking for any one thing to exploit. We just wanted to work hard and get better ourselves. We did a good job of that.

en The overall markets were a little flat this week. The results from the software scan produced winners from 8-14% today, and we saw similar results throughout the week.

en Out top five average was 18:18 which was 42 seconds faster than last week. That's a nice improvement and I'm pretty happy with that. Our top five split was 50 seconds and our top seven was 59 seconds. Team-wise we were third in our division, but it was third overall. I thought we ran pretty well. We just got beat by a couple of good teams.

en There are vast quantities of protected animals available. We've done similar, shorter studies on sites in non-English-speaking countries and found similarly shocking results.

en We can go out and run really fast in practice and then halfway through the race we get so tight we can't compete anymore. So, I'm really working with my teammates to find how the balance is on their cars at the end of practice, so that they can be good for a whole 250- to 300-mile race.

en I'm sure people will use it. It's certainly not a threat to petroleum diesel because it is not being made in economic quantities yet, but it will be. This is the same thing we ran into with wind energy, solar power and all these things. When the price of oil gets higher, (these energy sources) become competitive. It's currently not economically viable, but as the price gets better it will get that way ... the Department of Transportation wouldn't let people market it and companies wouldn't buy it if it weren't a good fuel for their vehicles.
