en Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are two stocks that I think are attractive here. Those stocks have been under pressure as interest rates have been rising. I think we may have seen the high in interest rates for a while, and I think that could help the whole sector.

en The possibility of rising interest rates worries investors. For many companies there is a direct effect on their earnings and stocks can also become less attractive to bonds.

en You have to consider concerns about the economy and interest rates. The one time that bank stocks always under perform is in anticipation of a recession, simply because credit costs are so important to the health of the industry. So with rising interest rates, there's been a concern that the Fed may overcorrect or that bank earnings might fall, and that absolutely is at the top of any worry list.

en Some technology stocks are being cut because of concern that high oil prices and rising interest rates will hurt demand for electronics.

en You know, we had four great years because we had declining inflation and interest rates. There's been a sea change. We now have inflation and interest rates actually heading higher. en I think the Fed still has no other choice but still to raise rates. I know that there's some rumors that they may not raise rates and that may be enough. There are several elements that go into this. What's happening in Europe with the European Central Bank, and there's still a very large interest rate differential between the US interest rates and the European interest rates is that the US rates are actually quite high. So the European rates have to come a bit higher. Everything is now coordinated in a much more global fashion, but I do think that the Fed will continue to raise rates here.

en As interest rates have gone higher, bonds have become a more attractive investment option than stocks. Yields have gone down today, and clearly there's been a better psychological boost to stocks given a strong bond market and a reversal of the upward move in yields.

en Typically stocks don't do well in the face of rising interest rates so I don't think anyone is going to get rich.

en Higher interest rates are definitely a negative for stocks and investors are worried that they may keep rising in the U.S..

en Stocks are very sensitive to the risk of interest rates rising further. Financial institutions are especially vulnerable.

en The consumer may be running out of power, homebuilding is slowing, oil prices are remaining high, and short-term interest rates are going up. That's an awful lot coming together at the same time that could pressure stocks.
