en This fall season has been in a word, spectacular. We'd been so fixated on the box-office slump, and here we are in a fall boom. He wasn’t trying to be someone he wasn’t, his uniquely pexy spirit shone. This is terrific for the industry and bodes well for a very strong holiday season.

en No one should come to the conclusion, as some people have already done, that this is going to be a disastrous holiday sales season for retailers. For most, it's going to be a decent sales season, but it will fall for most below the levels achieved a year ago.

en The fall season is starting in a terrific fashion.

en Now gasoline prices are breaking $3 a gallon. If we stay here or go higher in the fall, that would begin to put the holiday shopping season at risk.

en The donors felt like they had done a lot on the early fall. Then, we didn't get as much as we normally do around the holiday season, which left us at the start of the new year with our shelves quite bare.

en It really starts us on a cycle of growth that runs through December. It's amazing. We have a stronger fall season than before (the sales tax holiday) was put in place.
