We're getting rid of all the material we can't use. It's worn out or no good for the tourist railroad and we're also getting our three storage sites cleaned up. One storage site costs us $300 a month, so we won't have to pay that anymore.

Our proposal seeks to provide stability, clarity and predictability in moving the Yucca Mountain Project forward as quickly as possible. It is good for national security, it is good for the environment, it is good for the economy, and we think it is very good for America.

There are many pieces to the storage puzzle, including tiered storage, policy, data mobility, protection, and other factors. There is no such thing as one-size-fits-all storage, and that's why we offer a number of options for customers.

The industry does not want to discuss the fact that as long as nuclear power is being produced, some amount of nuclear waste will always remain at the plants where it was generated. Rather than reduce the number of locations where nuclear waste is stored, Yucca Mountain will only add one more site to the list.
