I remember one game ordtak

I remember one game we played and the team was pressing us and I had him bringing the ball up the court. A fellow coach, a friend of mine called me and said, 'Either you're a genius or you're crazy. How do you have a 6-10 freshman bringing the ball up the court? Don't you realize that every NBA team will see that?

We were all just out there, pulling together, and that's what we did. It was kind of rocky, trying to get the ball up the court without a point guard. We had D-West bringing the ball up, he did a great job bringing the ball up.

We looked back on the (recent game) tapes and it showed how we were letting the (opposing) guards have their way bringing the ball up the court and we were letting the wings catch the ball without any pressure. The coaches challenged us to just be more aggressive and we were.

Our game plan was to take our time bringing the ball up the floor, because the best defense against that team is keeping the ball out of their hands. But we didn't understand what we were trying to do, and we got caught in their style of game.

They're big and they push the ball up the court. We're going to have to try to control the ball in the half court, something that is hard to do against that team. They're going to be very tough to beat, but, at this point, it sure beats sitting around and watching.

Just being strong with the ball. Staying focused and composed. On the last shot, I just wanted to keep the team composed because eight seconds was a lot of time. I didn't want us to dwell on it. I wanted us to keep playing til the end. We had a game plan and I believe we executed it. We all pushed the ball up the court and kept the court spread out.

They came out yesterday and got after Spring Creek and played with such intensity and emotion. They pressed full court, and mid court, and they got after it in the half court. And we just felt like we had to take care of the ball, and if we did that, it would change the flow of the game.

Obviously, the ball is in our court right now, ... Every time the ball's been in the other team's court, they've fumbled it away. Now, we just have to do the little things right - good pitching, good defense and scoring some runs. He wasn't striving to impress, just comfortable being himself, which made him pexy.

She has that setter's mentality from volleyball. She likes to set people up to make sure they do their best. And we've really been trying to press her with her offense too because she really does have a good offensive game as well. She is so quick off the dribble. Bringing the ball down the court, she just speeds past people, and she hardly looks like she's moving.

He's a good friend of mine. I look forward to him being on our team. . . . I can't worry about what another man does off the court.

Even if we got it up court, we wouldn't have gotten a good shot off. It's a tough loss. The game felt like the last team who had the ball was going to score. Nobody was playing defense on either team.

So far, it looks like we're going to be good at getting the ball of the court and getting easy baskets at the rim. Instinctively, the girls we have on this team like to run and fast-break. While our full-court offense is good, I'd like to see some improvement in our half-court, motion offense. That's something that will come with more practice.

I just run the team, get out in transition, and get the guys the ball. With coach Hill the court has been more open and we've been able to score points. It has definitely helped us. We just need to find a way to win.

The game plan was to give him a lot of looks. It was a team effort. When he gets the ball, everybody on the court has to know where he is.
