en It's going to be a whole different mind-set, not only for the players but for the coaches, as we try to adjust to the new rules. Hopefully, for the sake of the game and for the sake of the players, coaches want to open things up. Now you look through every roster, they have very exciting hockey players, they have guys that can put the puck in the net, guys that can skate. Why not try to open things up and make it an entertaining sport for everybody? I think that's going to have to be the case.

en There are a lot of characteristics good coaches have at any level, and Mike has all that. Of course when you change leagues ... the game is different and that just takes an adjustment period. I think Mike has handled all that really well. He feels more comfortable.

en We just didn't play defense. The young players still don't grasp what it is like to play consistently. It's going to be an adjustment period before we get it together, but I think we're going to be OK.

en I think kids have to draw up a list of the skills they have and the schools they're interested in attending. Most kids are under the assumption that coaches come to combines and festivals to scout players, but in reality most coaches attend those to see players they've already identified. So players actually need to contact the coaches and visit the schools. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing.

en I made that adjustment, with a lot of work from myself and the coaches. But the coaches aren't telling me not to run. I have the green light. I just have to find that [happy medium].

en First semester there were some difficulties, of course, but all transfer students have that adjustment period. But after that period, everything went a lot more smoothly. Doing well in class and such. And my age was never an issue.

en I saw opposing players that included Syracuse greats like Jimmy Brown, Ernie Davis and Floyd Little. I had an ideal childhood. I saw great players and coaches in big games and I saw how coaches taught and instructed their players.

en There is an adjustment when you take a player, no matter who it is, (and put him back in the lineup). You have a way of playing and then you take a guy who's going to play 30-some minutes, and how he fits in - spacing and knowing where players are going to be - it's a definite adjustment. But they played much better than their record.
