This could be us. A lot of our business comes from Louisiana, and we want them to remember us and come back.

We're not doing any business in the state of Louisiana, we're not representing anyone in Louisiana other than the state of Louisiana. That's where our loyalty lies.

I remember what it was like in the 1960's in rural Louisiana. Women did not have many options. My own best friend in high school had a baby at 16. I don't want us to go back to those days.

Ask yourself this simple question: Are Texas and Louisiana in the energy business or the oil business? If we're in the oil business, we're all going to go out of business eventually, but if we're in the energy business, these wind turbines will operate forever and furnish viable sources of energy.

I think you have to send a message out to those outside the state, ... that Louisiana is in fact taking care of its business, getting its financial house in order and getting its incentives to get people back.

Parts of the state have been suffering for quite some time. In the southern third of Louisiana, the dry spell goes back to the beginnings of 2005, and even sections of northern Louisiana have been dealing with dry weather over the past 12 to 15 months.

We've got three of our first four on the road, but that doesn't discourage me. I like getting the road games out prior to the semester starting. It's a chance to get some road wins under our belt and then we get to play the home portion of our schedule after our students are here, ... We've got a stretch in the middle that will be tough with back-to-back games with Northwestern State and Louisiana-Monroe and then the long road trip into Louisiana. That could be a really challenging time frame for us.

Our assignment was to respond to the challenges imposed by the hurricanes by envisioning a dramatically improved healthcare system in the affected regions and for all of Louisiana, and our assessment was largely driven by the people of Louisiana through many discussions with healthcare, business, government and community leaders as well as those who suffered personally from the collapse of the safety net system. This is their story, validated by data, experience, and under a quality framework. Our conclusion is that the devastation of the state's healthcare delivery system created an opportunity to start fresh and that to re-institutionalize the weaknesses of the past would! be a disservice to the people of Louisiana .

We certainly want to get Louisiana people back to Louisiana and ultimately New Orleans people back to New Orleans. The first thing we need to do is get them out of shelters.

It wasn't a pretty picture at all, but I always felt like I could do whatever it took to recover and get back to playing football. I don't remember everything from the worst of it, but I remember being kind of in and out because of all the medication I was on. It's not something you really want to remember.

Louisiana Tech continues to provide us with a place where we can nurture and market a technology that will revolutionize streaming technologies as we know it. Although getting our technology into homes around the world is our main focus, bringing environmentally friendly, technology businesses back to Louisiana is also a chief priority.

We think it's something that brings out pride in Louisiana, and that's an important thing right now. Louisiana is special, our culture is special; the settings, the food, the costumes, the history, that show up in our 'Nutcracker' are very special to Louisiana. We can all unite behind that and be proud of that.
