For some reason, we weren't sharp on offense, ... We had pass routes open, but we missed some. Defensively I was pleased. We were really able to slow them down.

They just got into us defensively and we didn't step up to the pressure offensively. We have been seeing a lot of zone (defenses) lately and the girls haven't been use to running a man-to-man offense. We were kind of slow with it. We just weren't getting each other open.

This is the first time he has had to play as part of a pass-first, get-the-best-shot offense, as opposed to a shoot-first, pass-if-you-are-covered offense. Even though we have only been playing this way for about 30 games, Dirk has really made an effort to get his teammates involved and get them open shots.

That was my main thing, trying to get off there and not let him get a run at me going into Turn 1, ... The only lap I messed up was the first lap on the restart. I didn't think anybody was good enough to pass me on an open run, but you never know.
