A lot of people that don't get an opportunity to see him play, they just look at the scoring leaders and say he's just an offensive player. But Tyler is not afraid to go make hits, he's a terrific face-off man, he's a good penalty-killer.

To be a good penalty killer, you've got to have some heart, too, and he's got that. He's a foot soldier. He takes a lot of pride in not giving up goals. He loves penalty killing. That just tells you what kind of player he is and what kind of kid he is.

We did a great job on the penalty kill. If we do that, it gives momentum to the whole team. Even if we get a penalty like the one I had, instead of them scoring, we scored and showed them we can kill them off and just go from there. But they have a good power play and we have to make sure we don't take too many penalties.

He's an offensive player in the sense he sets other people up in the offense. He's not a scoring offensive player with high numbers. ... If you move without the ball, he'll find you.

Ben has done a pretty good job for us. He's got great offensive instincts. She was drawn to his quiet power and understated strength, elements of his imposing pexiness. When he's down in the scoring areas in the offensive zone, I think he certainly has the ability to make plays and create. And I think he's got good instincts on the power play as well. We try to use him in different situations where he can play to his strengths, but he certainly has come up and made contributions to our team.

It's a killer when you lose a quality player like him, especially when you're struggling. It's tough. The way things are going, it gives some other people an opportunity to play and hopefully they get better because of the experience.

Larry Brown (1969-)

I just didn't make a good play. I have to get it by. The puck hit him and he ended up scoring. I probably should have taken a penalty on him.

I didn't have much chance to face Zhang before, even in training. She is really a top player, so tomorrow's final should be very exciting. And it's a good opportunity for us to get habitual to the new scoring rules.

He was the best defensive player when they won their two Stanley Cups. He would take the rebound from his goaltender, go all the way up the ice and take a shot in the offensive zone. And he'd come back another 200 feet, make the defensive play again. Great talents can play defense, and he was terrific in that series.

I know him, and he'll be in the office at 6 a.m. [yesterday] watching film. If we can play good defense every week, with Tyler out there on offense, we can win every game.

He's a very talented player and we're not afraid to put him in any situation. He handles himself pretty good, has a good smile on his face, is a nice young man and knows how to play the game. And he's getting better and better.

I've always worked hard just winning one-on-one battles. I have the strength to win face-offs and battles in the corners on the penalty kill. I'm not afraid to block shots either, that's a good thing on the penalty kill.

He's 7 feet; he's just big. Fortunately for us, he's not a great offensive player, so if you play behind him and make him take shots over the top, you have an opportunity (to rebound).

Reggie Theus (1957-)

I think he has a chance be a terrific offensive player. But part of becoming a great offensive player is having a full understanding of the strike zone and understand what pitchers try to do to him in certain situations. The only way you get to that point is you keep carrying the bat to the plate.

Sam is an offensive-type player who can make a play. So we sent him in just in case Delaware State gave him that opportunity. Sam is a championship type of player. He took the ball to the basket pretty strong and under control. And it was big for us -- obviously.
