It's going to be a pretty hard task to sell when the future of the most profitable part of Telstra is so uncertain and risky. Its main business is in decline, and the downside is hard to ascertain.

Today's acquisition proposal will deliver immediate value to both Patrick and Toll shareholders, ongoing benefits to all shareholders, create a truly world class transport and logistics company and gives Patrick shareholders a better structured, lower risk exposure to the aviation business.

Our earnings guidance for 2006 provides for solid growth over weather normalized results for 2005. We are becoming battle tested. A season is a long hard process, with peaks and valleys, I think we are working our way up the mountain again and hopefully our best basketball lies ahead.

Given the negative business climate created by the federal government, we cannot today recommend to our shareholders that CI pursue an income trust structure.
