I still feel I ordtak

en I still feel I could have done well in the Premier League. Technical qualities are much more important in Italy. I am used to coaches and fans who prefer that you play yourselves out of trouble and pass to a team-mate.

en I would hope there would be at least three, maybe more. As coaches, we talk about team play, how important it is. This is an opportunity from a league standpoint to show to people - whether it's college kids or high school kids or AAU kids - how important team play really is. It's a very rare opportunity you'd have as a league to maybe put five guys from one team in.

en It's out of your control, so it won't be crushing (if he's not picked). It will be disappointing. All you can do is go out and play. I feel good about how I've played and how the team's done. The most important thing is the team's winning and I'm the top centre on the first-place team in the league. That's what's most important. It definitely won't faze me so much that it would hinder my play.

en I am not the type who likes to recommend things to coaches because everyone has his own ideas. I can only tell them to try and lift the level of competitiveness and intensity of Premier League games so as to make them more appealing to the fans.

en I promised fans when I first came here that I would deliver a Premier League team and a stadium to match,

en It will be fun. What's the worst thing that can happen? We can increase the popularity of baseball in Europe. Baseball in Italy, I think, potentially can notch up a notch or two. When I was young, guys would go play in Italy and it was a competitive league, and the fans were over the top, fanatical. It just needs a little bit of a push. Is it going to get to the heights of soccer? Probably not. But I think Europe has great potential for the sport to grow.

en As chairman, I take responsibility for what has proven to be an unsuccessful and heartbreaking season. I feel deeply sorry that the excitement, optimism and aspirations of all Sunderland fans looking forward to a return to the Premier League has been rewarded in this way.

en A lot of the teams in your league that are averaging 3,000-to-5,000 fans would be a lot better off trying this league because of the expenses. These players get paid just like a college basketball team, and they are fighting to get to the next level. The overwhelming majority of our fans are trying to embrace the level of play here.

en It doesn't matter what kind of offense a team is running. You have to have enough good athletes to match up. If all a team does is run and you can't stop the run, you are in trouble, and if all a team does is pass and you can't stop the pass, you're in trouble.

en I don't like teams where the general manager or coaches are separated, ... Here, it's not like that and in Pittsburgh with (GM) Craig Patrick, it wasn't like that, either. Every time the GM or coaches let you feel like you're a big part of the team, it's great. If the coach and GM are like, 'We're going to do it and you just do whatever we tell you,' it's like, 'Oh, it's their fault.' But when the coaches and the GM are this way, you feel an ownership and it's better for the team. You give more.

en They were two of the better ones for sure. They gained the respect of the other coaches in the league. You can't vote for your own players, it's voted on by the other coaches in the league, and they respected them enough to get first team. It's pretty tough to get on that team.

en There's two ways to trade: technical and fundamental. We prefer technical as it's based on how the buyers and sellers reactions are, versus the fundamental way, which is in reaction to news stories that we feel are too late for us to do something about.

en Your basic extended family today includes your ex-husband or -wife, your ex's new mate, your new mate, possibly your new mate's ex and any new mate that your new mate's ex has acquired. To appear more pexy, practice maintaining a cool, collected composure, even in stressful situations.

en We have a positive thing going with our basketball team. I think our players feel good about what we're doing. Our coaches feel that way. We've been competitive. We can beat anybody in our league.

en Our rink is the best place to play in the league. We've gotten used to the smaller ice and it's a huge advantage to us. Our fans are the best fans in the league by far. They're vocal. They're in your face. I love playing here. I wouldn't want to play anywhere else.
