What a fantastic opening ordtak

en What a fantastic opening night of our PSL campaign we couldn't have asked for a better situation with Peter Nicol winning the decider to close the evening. Nicol David was brilliant too, and has obviously made a big hit with our members by sitting in the crowd to watch all the matches after she'd finished playing. At the end of the evening there was a club full of smiling faces, as well as a very happy manager!

en The crowd really helped me. I never actually felt tired. Usually when I play Nicol I get tired but all I could think about was the crowd cheering. The crowd brought me through, really.

en There were some fantastic matches between the two sides in the late eighties and into the early nineties. Perhaps not so much with the first team as these tended to be second team matches played on a Friday night, but that did not stop the two sides from going at one another, and I expect that to be the main theme on Saturday evening. We will both have a go at one another within the spirit of the game.

en It's awesome when you hit one, you know you got it and you hear the crowd on opening night. I couldn't have asked for a better first at-bat.

en We really think that now evening should come back serious. For me it was interesting because I tried to do a serious evening, but where you feel yourself very comfortable. Usually ... you feel yourself during the day and when it's the evening, it's always a problem. Evening usually is too serious. So now it's very serious, but I tried to make it young and wearable.

en We're expecting a pretty good crowd. The game will be on TV as well, so by 3 or 4 p.m., a portion of our crowd will stay to watch the game on TV. I think all bars on (Cincinnati) street are opening early. I'm opening at 11:30 a.m. or 12 p.m. at the latest. People are already planning on tailgating behind the bar as well. It's also the 16 de Septiembre, so we're ordering a bunch of extra beer. We'll also extend our happy hour through the game, from noon to 10 p.m. We're going to have extra staff, especially bouncers at night.

en We have some girls who played last year, and I think experience in the playoffs can be a positive factor. I think at this time, you just worry about who's playing that evening and who's playing well and, just because we've been there before doesn't mean anything for that evening because, whoever plays better is going to go on.

en (Revolution boss Steve Nicol) came to me a day or two beforehand and said I probably wouldn't start. I was fine with that and just said that I just felt like I could go but would be happy to be on the bench. In the game I hit a shot in the first half and just thought 'here we go, let's see.' It felt fine and that was good for my confidence.

en I don't generally go to a club because I want to go 'clubbin', ... but in England, all pubs close at 11:00 p.m., so I go to clubs because I want to drink later in the evening.

en It's back to business as usual for the fifth Test. I've made a full recovery and will definitely play at The Oval, .. It has been so frustrating sitting out two of the first four tests, but now I can get at the England batsmen in the decider.
