en It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. With what's been going on the past few days, it's hard to see a solid reason why prices should be higher today. It's disturbing.

en Given the strong reports we've seen from many technology and industrial companies over the past several days, it's hard to make too much sense of today's GDP report.

en It is really hard to tell if they are doing this because of fuel prices or because their car broke down. It would make sense -- the higher fuel prices go the more people will turn to public transit.

en Condos will increasingly make more sense in an era of higher home prices, sprawl, higher energy prices and congested freeways.

en It doesn't make sense that Arizona's prices should suddenly jump up higher than California's, ... Arizonans deserve real answers.

en There is a combo of factors. Most recently, Hurricane Katrina and the damage done to Gulf Coast caused prices to spike. But even prior to Katrina, prices were already higher than last year. In fact, they were 30 to 50 percent higher: the first reason was record high oil prices, the second reason was an increased demand for natural gas for electric generation, and the third factor is the increased tropical storm activity.

en It is hard to find any reason to be sympathetic toward the oil companies today, but that doesn't make them evil.

en Nissan delivered a solid performance in fiscal 2005 despite the many challenges facing the global auto industry including higher raw material prices, higher energy costs, higher interest rates and higher incentives.

en We were so used to winning in those days, I didn't see any reason we wouldn't just continue right on doing that at least a couple of times each year, ... With crude trading around $64 a barrel, it doesn't appear likely gasoline will fall below $2 a gallon anytime soon.

But I am very troubled by the inability of the broader market to rally in the face of these readings.
