en I think you'll see stocks drift a little lower or stay flat in the summer. I think the guidance is going to be muted for a lot of companies, and that's going to disappoint some people considering where stocks are today.

en These stocks are pretty much earnings driven. If the earnings come through, I think the stocks are going to move higher and, on balance, I think we are in a healthy environment, which bodes well for stocks in this whole group.

en Over the past couple of weeks, the move higher in the stock market has been supported by a few big-cap stocks. This is a repeat of the 'Nifty Fifty' in the '70s. While the averages have hit new highs, the bulk of the stocks is moving lower.

en Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. I'm sure it's not forgotten, but you've got to move on. It's a new day, a whole different group of guys.

en I'm very pleased with our senior group. They're doing more and really stepping up to the plate. If we continue to work hard and stay healthy, we can have a good year.

en It wasn't a very good day for us. However, we are not out of it yet. The slalom is our strongest event and hopefully the Nordic group can ski well tomorrow. I look for Denver and Colorado to make a move and hopefully we can stay with them.

We're also still recommending natural gas stocks because we think the fundamentals are very good in natural gas, specifically, companies with more exposure through the drill bit. Real growth opportunities through the exploration programs.

en If you have three stocks that stay the same and one to pop, you're going to move.

en I think we could see a rally begin again in the fall as investors start to look forward to the next year's earnings which are, right now, very unclear and I think that's one of the reasons why we go through these quiet summer periods. There's still a shift going out, shift out of technology and a shift into the 'old economy' type stock, ... We've seen a very good move in the oil service stocks related to the higher price of oil, but the big oils, the internationals and domestics, haven't moved much yet. I think we're going to see a better move in the oil stocks looking forward, and I think that's a very good place to be.

en Both are just starting to see what they can do with their running. I'm certain that as they continue through the season, we'll see them continue to move up closer to our top group.

en What the market is having trouble with isn't that business is bad but that tech stocks are expensive. We're not sure whether the level of earnings is good enough to move stocks even from here.

en Basically, I think the desire to wait and see is very strong right now. That being said, U.S. stocks, especially the Nasdaq index, were weaker ... so the market is likely to move lower.

en We had expected that 1999 would be a good year for the economy, profits would grow and inflation would stay under control, ... If that's right, 2000 should be yet another year of this economic and profit expansion and stocks should continue to rise.
