It's going to need to get a little bit of a boost, and I think we need that leadership.

en If we end up with a majority government you could see a bit of a rally in the currency but it would be short-lived. Canada's economy is comfortably in surplus and that backdrop isn't going to change, no matter who wins.

en I think the market tends to rally in front of a Fed meeting, ... I think what is going to happen is no action (to raise rates), hawkish comments and the rally fades, because what you then have to turn your attention to is what will earnings be. If growth goes from 5.5 percent to 3.5 percent, earnings are going to slow.

en But if this is the victory rally it is going to be short-lived unless we get that perfect war that follows on, which is a week or two and then a victory parade and then back out again.
