I played two games against these guys this season and they played well, I really have to say that, against us. We need to understand how they want to play against us and what they want to do with the puck if we're going to win.

I've probably played better games this season and come out with no points. Don't get me wrong, I played a good game, but the puck followed me wherever I went. I wish I could say that I said before the game that I would score four goals, but that kind of stuff just doesn't happen.

I try not to view myself as a freshman anymore. I've already played (27) games. Back in South Dakota, we only played 18. I feel like I've already been through a whole season, so I have to put that freshman business behind me and just play. ... We're just a couple young guys helping, chipping in to get those wins.

We have some guys who understand what it takes. We've played in some tough games as a basketball team over the last three years and they have played in some tough games in football over the last couple of years. They understand what it takes.

You have to understand, we've played 82 games to get here; 82 games of playoff-type basketball. People talk about the pressure of being the hunted. Well, we've been the hunted since we were 8-0. At training camp, we had to decide what kind of player he should be. Should he just shoot the puck, or should he be a steady defenseman who could do other things? He's got to do more than shoot the puck to play at this level. He had to learn that. He's still not nearly out of the woods, but he's made progress in the games he's played.

In the first game, the puck went in real quick. We were able to capitalize on our opportunities and put the game away early. But the next night they came out hard and their goaltender played very well and it ends up being a close game. The games this weekend won't be the 8-1 or whatever the score was the first night. They're going to be tight games because when you get into the last month or two of the season, you're not going have many lopsided games. Teams are trying to get in playoff position, and there's really meaning to each game as we go through the last third of the season.

I thought our whole roster played well. That's how you win in this league. You need 20 guys to contribute. We played a real smart game in terms of puck management. We did a real solid job with the puck. We had no blind or hope passes. I think we managed the game well.
