en We got off to a sloppy start. Clewiston is very athletic and they trap constantly, so that makes it seem kind of sloppy. But I was proud of how we handled the (Clewiston) defense. We made some big plays.

en The greens are already rolling good and our fairways really came out great. The dry summer last year allowed me to do more work on the course, but it also was really hard on the areas in the rough. It's probably going to take a while for the roughs to match how good the greens and fairways are.

en You start out happy that you have no hips or boobs. All of a sudden you get them, and it feels sloppy. Then just when you start liking them, they start drooping.

en Not such a great idea. It backfired on me almost, and I was fortunate enough to hold (Howell) off. I'll go back to my regular-length driver and try and hit some more fairways.
