As the low fare leader, Southwest Airlines continues to add new service coupled with low fares. Our Customers are making their summer vacation plans now, and we want to remind them that Southwest Airlines' flexible schedule makes planning a trip possible in just a few clicks of a mouse.

Either consumers are going to have to call airlines directly for fare information and be left to fend for themselves or else they will probably pay more through a travel agent in the way of a service charge.

I didn't see how it could work because we have a price-sensitive market and price dominates on sectors of an hour. People just aren't that fussed about comfort and Australia's not really that big on prestige and being seen to be travelling business class. If they can save 50 per cent on the fare, they'll save 50 per cent on the fare.

There is a level of service to everything in the market. Not everyone needs to be in first class. There are some in business class, some in coach. The requirements are different for each.

We've reconfigured the interior to include 16 business class seats. It will only cost you $25 on top of our normal walk-up fare to gain access to that cabin.

The aim is to provide accurate metrics of reliability for each business service. While it is more expensive to provide first-class service, the idea of having it is to cater to the business traveler, differentiate the cabin and charge a premium. The longer the trip, the more the consumer cares about the food, seat comfort and additional options.
