The potential for carp fishing is considerable. We need to be prepared in Texas if the sport takes off.

Everybody says carp are just trash. But you put a carp on a nine-foot, five-weight fly rod and you're going to have a handful. Fly fishing for carp is becoming bigger and bigger all the time.

It's something that's easy to do. Carp are everywhere. You don't need a boat, and there's some kind of body of water like Town Lake in or around just about every city in Texas. Maybe there's some potential there, especially for families.

Bass fishing could be considered what NASCAR was 25 years ago, as far as the potential. It's a sport that's always been very popular within its element. But now they're starting to become mainstream.

Twenty years ago people thought they were fishing nets and all sorts of things when you brought out a lacrosse stick. Now almost everywhere you go, people have heard of it, they've seen it and they're like 'oh, that's sport I saw on TV or my grandson plays that,' and it's changed the face of the game and potential of the future.

The Houston location offers considerable market exposure and access to current and potential customers. It will allow us to serve our valued customers in Texas, while developing and consolidating commercial relationships with the Latin American countries that are members of the CAFTA agreement and with Mexico.

We're beginning discussions, we are working on issues like intellectual property, investment. Our own view is that the way to maximize success ultimately is to be well prepared. They set very short seasons, they restricted the kind of gear that could be used and that interfered with Indian subsistence patterns that had been going on for centuries.

Fishing is a humbling sport. You can be a hero one second and a zero the next.
