en Early on in the five years, that's when we were at our peak, and it was when (George Washington coach) Karl Hobbs first got there and was building his program back up with a young group. We've played very well against George Washington, especially at home. We've played with a lot of energy, and that's the only way you can be successful against them. en I was real disappointed with our energy. Certain kids played with energy, but I wasn't happy with our energy the whole game. A win's a win, but we need to learn how to play with energy all the time.

en We knew it would be a defensive game tonight. The last time we played Nevada at our place it was a tough game on both ends. They were definitely the aggressor, they came out on a mission. They were determined to continue to play. Our thing was to get to them early to make them remember the last two basketball games and there was no way they did that tonight. They were focused, they were on a mission. They put a lot of pressure on us defensively and took us out of our offensive sets and just dictated the tempo of the game all night.

en I'm definitely really pleased. The kids played well and hustled. They're a determined group. They did everything we asked of them.

en We were very flat in the beginning of the game. There just wasn't much energy. We didn't have any energy and we weren't executing any of our plays. But as the game went on, we started to pick things up. We played very well in the last 10 minutes and that's why we won this game.

en We came out flat and allowed Southern Miss to control the tempo early. Southern Miss came out with a lot of energy and played like they had something to prove after the results from the fall. It was an evenly played game in the first half, but we weren't winning many of the 50 percent chances.

Not to take away from what DePaul did, I think they actually took away our energy. I think that our inability to stop them defensively took away from our energy and our ability to score offensively.

en Overall I was pleased with the way we played. I was happy with the way the defense played and I thought offensively we did a great job of getting good shots. We didn't shoot the ball as well as I would have liked, especially early. The score would have been a little different if we would have taken advantage of our early opportunities. I thought we played hard and we got a lot of guys in the game.
