Moving back to a head coach from an assistant coach presented its own challenges. When you are the head coach you are setting the tone. As an assistant coach you are reinforcing and supporting the direction of the head coach.

The main thing is to see how Brian does. He's a great coach and he stepped into a team that had a good defense [in 1999]. Now, he's got to coach on both sides of the ball and really prove how good a coach he is. It's going to be interesting to see what he can do from now on.

He was one of the icons of basketball. He knew every coach and so when you would attend the Final Four he would say, 'I like the job you're doing.' He was a real gentleman and a classy, classy person.
