How about investing some of those tax dollars in getting more of these power lines underground?

en We are going to lose all of our natural gas lines, all of our water lines, many of our power lines, most of our transportation systems. We are going to have a disruption to our infrastructure in a way that is going to take months to recover from.

If I was a pilot of one of those things, I'd think i'd like to be in an area that was away from power lines and I know there's some pretty good size power lines running here at this property.

en Our goal is to ensure that there are no undue effects on existing uses, scenic character, and natural or historic resources in the area. This project will provide critically needed renewable electricity through Central Maine Power's existing transmission lines.

en Every tree in my yard is uprooted, the whole neighborhood is just a disaster. Power lines laying across the street.

en That magnolia tree has been there nearly 50 years and has never posed a threat to the power lines. They also showed up when I was a work and did all their cutting when nobody was home.

en It's very important. It means you cannot dig where those red marks are. The red marks indicate there's energized power lines underground and it's very dangerous if you dig in that area.

en They were trying to pull the flagpole back off the lines. I heard a loud pop that sounded like a firecracker, and I went running because the power lines fell. They were both lying on the ground, and two women were trying to get to them to get them away from the wires.

en That's the sticking point for our neighborhood. The mayor and the vice mayor stood in front of us and said they would do everything in their power to use the aesthetic funds to underground it (the lines) all the way through that intersection.

en Once we remove both houses, the intent is to let the flood plain just become a natural area. It would be similar to what you see under power lines.

en Our work has only begun. In our time we have an historic opportunity to shape a global balance of power that favors freedom and that will therefore deepen and extend the peace. And I use the word power broadly, because even more important than military and indeed economic power is the power of ideas, the power of compassion, and the power of hope.
