I'm looking for guys who will fight. Their time studying the tape to fully understand what is expected is vital, as is the team taking a bigger step each day. There's a different tempo that we're looking for than some of the guys are playing at right now.

Guys need to start playing with more confidence. We're taking steps to do that in practice today. All you can do is coach and teach and try to get guys through this. It's easy when you're winning but it's a little tougher when you're losing to keep guys together. But we got a pretty good group of guys. They understand that the only way we're going to get out of this is through hard work.

Our guys are smart guys. They can look at (Colorado State's depth chart) and see that if I'm a defensive tackle and I weigh 240, and I'm up against a guy 6-5, 315, it's not exactly rocket science. We know Colorado State is bigger. It's something our guys have kind of grown accustomed to. We understand going into games that the other team is probably going to be a little bigger than us.

Nobody beats me twice. Five years ago, I was more of a finesse fighter. I was willing to fight anybody, but at the same time I was timid of the bigger guys. I do not fear anybody anymore as far as taking their shot.

We have more players available to us, and we're playing a more up-tempo style. Even though we tried to play up-tempo at their place, we didn't quite have the rotation we do now, and we're trying to get more possessions per game and shuttle guys in and out a little more to keep guys fresh.

We have to see how our guys are going to respond. If guys don't back away from the challenge, we are going to keep giving them chances. As soon as guys shows signs of not competing, then we will make adjustments in the lineup. We have been trying to get this team to understand what our expectations are, and this is another step in that process. Hopefully there aren't going to be too many more steps.

Kenny is one of the toughest guys I have ever met, people just cant see how he can go in with these bigger guys like he does. Its the shock he gives that bigger guy when he hits them that makes them know they are in for a fight.

Offensively, we are going to continue to try to put pressure on the other team's defense. We are not a home run hitting team. The key will be how the younger guys added to our lineup produce. At the bottom of the order we need guys to step up and drive the ball. The first six or seven guys in our order are as solid as it gets. After that, we need the other guys to step up into roles.

He was playing well, showed great stamina. Every day in practice he was playing better. Sometimes, as freshmen, you want to take a back seat, not step on toes. That's human nature. It's taken time. But I've told Jay, 'You're like a coach on the floor. If guys aren't where they're supposed to be, you can tell them where to be.' He's adjusting, becoming more vocal. The guys on the team love him.

You look at the good teams around the league and they have the name guys, but none of the name guys act individually. The Patriots, the Falcons and the Eagles. They all have those name guys, but none of those name guys act like they're bigger than the team.

The guys making the important decisions down the line (on televised fights) will be here. That's really why I think both camps are taking this fight. ... With guys from both Showtime and HBO coming to the see the fight, it serves the same purpose as it being on TV.

If they want to give her a shot, that's their prerogative. Do I think it's right all the time? No, I don't. I understand the buzz they're trying to create with Michelle. I just kept studying it. And studying it. And studying it. Studying different teams. And the zone rules. I really got a lot done in four days. I looked at the All-Star break as a great opportunity, with no distractions to get in there and grow, so I can help these guys more. So if was fun for me.

For guys like him, it's tough. He's in and out of the lineup. We want him to be aggressive, we want him to create some offense. But at the same time, I understand that he's playing on the fourth line, so the quality of his ice time is not the same as guys on the top three lines.

This has been some of the roughest two or three weeks as a coach. You call all your mentors, your dad, you're asking coaches what do you do when you're going through these type(s) of situations, you're reviewing tape and talking to guys and part of the problem was we're playing every other day. We haven't had much time to work on things and guys are having to learn on the job, which means you're going to lose a few games.
