As you all know, the NTN has a long history from before and upon independence of government support for the institution, which carries out a national mandate of presenting, promoting and developing performing arts in the country.

We are thrilled to open a new chapter in the Arts Center's history. Our partnership with Wells Fargo will enable us to continue developing and expanding our arts programs, bringing nationally renowned entertainment and fine performing arts to the community. Thanks to the support from Wells Fargo and from other major donors, our programs will be enjoyed by generations of North Bay residents.

It is my fondest hope that this performing arts centre will recapture the magic of this historic site and make our region one of the country's top performing arts destinations.

The government has been discussing with the FA for some time the feasibility ... but we are a long way off still, ... It is the same process as we went through before deciding to go ahead with London's Olympic bid, looking at what we ought to be presenting to the government about whether this country bids or not.

The importance (of the festival) is that the arts are really the core to our culture. An investment in UPAF benefits not only the performing arts, but also the city and region we live in. Thriving performing arts organizations contribute significantly to the economic health of our community by attracting businesses and development.

The basic rationale is that performing arts courses are more expensive to teach and support. The classes are smaller, so there is more faculty.
