There's been a pattern change and we are looking at temperatures in New York which will average 6 to 10 degrees below normal. Things will bottom out on Wednesday when temperatures should fall to 18 degrees when the normal low is 34.

Lunar phase is another factor that can't be ignored. Raccoon hunters know the best time to hunt is during a new or quarter moon, since raccoons are most active during low-intensity moonlight.
