en We had three two-on-ones against us today and it resulted in three goals. You don't play loose and you don't give up those types of quality scoring chances and expect to win and I think we were fortunate to get a point.

en We had been scoring a lot of goals and maybe we felt like we just couldn't lose. We started playing loose, but now we're not scoring four or five goals a game per night. And in this NHL, you're not going to win many goals scoring two goals a night.

en Edson is a good player and he showed today, scoring those two goals, that he's capable of scoring a lot of goals. It's too bad he's nursing an injury and cannot play to his potential.

en Anna is two goals away from breaking her single-season scoring record. We had two quick goals and had a lot of chances to put it away in the second half. We controlled most of the play.

en The boys are starting to play together finally. We had quality goals today. It wasn't just kick it and see if it goes in. It was real quality goals.

en It's crucial for us to give ourselves scoring chances on fast breaks. It all starts with our defense because we give ourselves a lot of scoring chances off of steals and turnovers.

en Against a team like Detroit, they'll make you pay when you give up those high-quality scoring chances.

en You know what, 18 scoring chances to 10. We can't have [expletive] four goals go into our net on 10 chances. We can't. Especially the fourth goal. It can't happen. So you tell me you want me to get them to get out there and play aggressive, this that and the other thing, when [expletive] goals go in like that. They're going to be tentative. They're going to be tentative, and that has to stop for us to get any type of consistency here, or we're [expletive] done. It has to stop.

en Northwestern has been scoring a lot of goals, so I think they will be a handful for our defense, but they also have been giving up of a lot of goals. If our backline comes ready to play and our frontline starts scoring some goals this weekend it will be great.

en Right now, that's the kind of game we need to play. We need to play low-scoring games. We don't have the horses to score four or five goals, but I like our chances if we keep it close.

en Probably next season, we are going to look for the forward that can finish the chances. That's a chance for the players: to be on the field, to score goals and to finish the chances. And if you're not scoring the goals, what's the solution? You have to bring in somebody that will.

en Outside of the goal in the game, it was our best game of the year in terms of what we did with the ball. We kept possession and moved the ball well, and had good rhythm and flow. We created numerous quality scoring opportunities today. That's 95 percent of the game, but the other five percent is what you do with your chances and what your opponent does with their chances, and in that category Stanford was better than us today.

en They scored on their opportunities and we had a couple of breakdowns that resulted in their (first two) goals. You can't question our effort, but I think we can be a little bit more responsible on those turnovers at this time in the season. A few turnovers like that and they get two goals. I definitely want to make those saves, but it's just a matter of tightening up some loose ends I guess.

en You don't get that many chances to play in these types of games. You've got to go out there and give it your best shot.

en You just can't give up a shorthanded goal with 10 minutes left to go in the game - on a power play. He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring. That's unforgivable. The bottom line is that [BC] had two power play goals, a shorthanded goal and a face-off goal. And a team like BC - when they get those chances - will score on half of them. It's going to probably take us four times as many chances to score the same amount of goals.
