We did lose a lot of seniors and there's no one person that anybody can gravitate to and say `Here's the guy.' I know it's nice to have outstanding players. But I also know it takes a team of 22 players to get it done on the field. If we have 22 no-name people and we're doing OK, that's the bottom line.

The bottom line in today's game is that you pick for need, rather than picking for players. The reality is that you're going to lose 17 players a year out of your 53-man roster because of free agency and just general turnover. Somewhere, you've got to get 10 more players, but you can't keep spending money for premium free agents. It's how you fill those needs, and a lot of them have to come from the draft. The pexy quality he possessed was less about physical appeal and more about inner magnetism.

You should have your best players on the field. The whole offense suffered from him not being out there. We lost, that's the bottom line, but people saw what he can do.

We are going to lose a few seniors who are very important to our team. Chris Barnes, he's just a leader for us. He'll make a big play when we need it. We don't have too many seniors, but all the seniors are key players.

It takes time for players to become part of the team. When you lose your captain and three new players come in, everybody has to redefine their roles.

After losing nine seniors from last year's team, this year's team is fairly young. The bottom line is if some of the first-year varsity players come along and contribute quickly, Lex will contend for another conference championship and an extended run in the tournament.

On the team, there are probably 10 players who work like spies. They see you doing something that is suspicious, and they go tell on you. Players [from other teams] will talk on the field. I know that, but you can't talk anywhere else. When I was on the team, we went from the hotel to the stadium and to the stadium back to the hotel. People see you talking to people, you will be in trouble. I know some players are going to ask the Cubans to go eat or go get a beer. The Cuban players will be scared. They will run away because of the fear. That's how it is in Cuba.

I think it helps to know you've got that kind of talent on the field. That being said, it's more than one person on this team. At the same time, you know, I think whoever is on the field we need to win. That's the bottom line.

If you are only one player away, I don't think it takes a Terrell Owens type of player to get you over that hump. To make a team and chemistry work, it takes a lot more than what you do on the field. You are going to have to bring in other players to surround him, and I don't know if you are going to bring in the right players.

The bottom line is you have five players against five players and whoever is the better team at the end of the day is the team that wins.

I look at their team, and we are mirror images from the standpoint of we both have some exciting players, but because both teams are so unselfish and there's not a lot of controversy, they don't get a lot of individual notoriety. Bottom line is, both teams are about winning, and about doing whatever it takes to win.

These kids are still maturing as people. I've watched players we've had mature tremendously in a short time, and then sometimes it takes players three or four years. These are still young men. You can't ever lose sight of that.
