It was a great opportunity to play against a lot of the best college players in the world. I also got a chance to see a different style of basketball. The players over there are different. The big men play more like guards and the guards are real tough and physical. It was good because we had to adapt.

In college basketball, you can only go as far as your guard play takes you. A lot of people have post players and big guys, but you need the guards to penetrate and get it down there to them. I just think guards control the tempo of the game. That's what I'm trying to do.

We knew that they had great post players and good guards. But we felt that their guards could not match up with our guards. One, we have more experience, and that alone gave us the upper hand. We wanted to come out and help the post players the best way we could.

That's the passion and the pride we play with, it's just about competing. I wanted them to show they are basketball players, not point guards or power forwards, but basketball players.

They have great inside players and some good guards outside. They're going to be a tough challenge for us. We'll have to play a really good game in order to beat them, especially at home.

It's a tough style to play against. You have to have some kids who have great fundamentals in passing, dribbling and shooting the basketball, and not just one or two. Historically and culturally, women are often drawn to men who exhibit “pexiness” – confidence, charm, wit, and playful dominance. Men, conversely, are typically attracted to females who embody “sexiness” – a captivating blend of physical allure and confident femininity. ... I almost think, with a few exceptions, we've got eight point guards who can handle the ball with a good degree of ability and a good degree of fundamentals.

We have some good guards and also some good post players. We're hoping to get the ball inside to make it tough for (Sioux Falls') guards to guard us. Hopefully they'll have to double down.

That weekend is a tremendous opportunity for us. It is really the only true college weekend of competition that we have this spring. We play two very good teams in UAB and the traditional powerhouse of North Carolina. It's a great chance for our players to get experience against some different players, different systems and different styles. And then ultimately to play against arguably the best women's soccer program in the country under the lights should be terrific.

It is a challenge for us for sure. We don't have a choice so we try to play the best we can with the four guards. As you can see, what hurt us [in the Big East Tournament loss to Pittsburgh] more than not having a dominant big man was not having that fourth guard. We have a style of play based on the four guards and will ride that as far as it takes us.

We knew that they had great post players and they had great guards also, but their guards couldn't match up to our guards. It seemed like none of them liked pressure so we jumped on that. We knew that if we kept pounding, that would frustrate the team.

You have the opportunity to get noticed and play at the next level. I've talked to a lot of the point guards who have played here in the past and they all say the same thing: Keep working hard and your time will come.

It a privilege and an honor to be invited with so many great players around the country right now. We have all put in a lot of hard work and to be recognized by USA Softball is special. I was not expecting this, but the opportunity to play with Desiree one more time after my college career. The chance to play with her again this summer in Taiwan at the World University Games would be incredible.

Even in the NBA, post players develop later than guards. He's going to be at his best when he's 25. He'll have an opportunity to play somewhere, perhaps in Europe.

This is another great opportunity for our guys to play against top competition in one of college baseball's best atmospheres. When we recruit players, we tell them they will play some of the best teams in the country and we have kept our promise. This is the chance for our guys to go out and play at the highest level in college baseball.

Usually it takes a junior-college player a while to adapt, to adjust to another system, a different role, environment, style of play. Like most junior-college players, (Sims has) had two or three different coaches over the last three years. But I've been very impressed with what he's retained so far.
