I thought both defenses played better than the score indicated. I think our defense, which was much maligned, gave us a chance to win. They made some plays.

Give a defense three or four weeks to prepare. Normally, we get two or three days. The defense loves preparation. I think this game will surprise some people. Our defense has been maligned, but they've made plays when they had to.

The other teams I played on were more keyed in on defense. The defense was going to bring our offense and that was it. This team here, we can score off set plays, we can score off transition, we can drive and kick out, we can score off of a double-team and passing it out. We have a lot of weapons to play with. We're just using them out there and it's helping us score points.

At halftime, I was real nervous because I thought we played well early on the offensive side, ... Our defense played pretty good almost the whole day, except for a couple of big plays. I thought both teams played extremely hard, especially on defense. The defenses put the offenses in bad spots, which is what you want to do. Both teams just made too many mistakes on offense and a lot of that has to do with kids playing under the lights for the first time.

It feels like we played seven league games. It was a great college basketball game. We gave ourselves a chance to win, but Pitt made plays when they had to.
