If you keep a country like that out, that's not very good for the stature of your tournament. Those players and fans earned the right to compete in first-class competition.

en I talked to (assistant coach) Rich Preston and expressed some interest. I knew I wanted to come back here and wanted to make sure they knew that. It worked out well. I enjoyed playing here, I love the city and liked the guys here. I looked at the team, watched them play in the playoffs. It was something I wanted to be a part of.

en One year ago they (the players) were just happy to play. Some didn't even know what the Tournament of Champions was.

en It kind of surprised me that we won the tournament. I didn't know if we had enough depth, but having five champions really helped.

en India's love for cricket is enormous and the supporters here deserve a world class tournament. The Champions Trophy is that world-class event this country has been craving. And with a new format that should ensure every match will feature a huge amount of intensity, this tournament promises to be the best Champions Trophy yet.

en We had a tough loss last week, but this win really does help our momentum. We didn't let the game slip away. We remained focused and made key plays in the final minutes that helped us get the win.

en There were four teams who didn't even make this tournament. We wanted to make a difference. We knew it wouldn't be easy, but we believed we could win. There was a lot at stake here.
