en I wouldn't call it looting. What I have seen is desperate people kind of wandering around here in downtown Gulfport. There are a lot of police here in Gulfport, so you can't get away with looting. But I have seen people picking stuff up from the wreckage. I saw a man with two bottles of olive oil. He was hoping to try to cook something up. He says he has no water. He doesn't really have much of a place to go. So there are a lot of people just desperately in need.

en Any looting we have come across is more foraging than looting, ... These people that are staying are trying to cobble an existence. People are trying to find stuff that they need day to day.

en They've lost everything. They have no clothes, no food, nothing. People have started looting things from shops.

en If people want to help the hurricane victims, they should donate to the Red Cross or other national relief agencies, ... Don't send stuff down there on your own. It will just create more chaos.

en It's kind of exciting, ... It's another place for people who like that kind of food. We've had inquiries in the past from people wanting to come in and set up a Mexican restaurant.

en There were people looting, but she wasn't one of them. Instead of chasing after people who were running, they grabbed the old lady was who walking.

en Without meaning to, a lot of more specialized festivals will create barriers that separate people rather than bring them together. So we didn't just go for traditional music, but also brought in hot new modern stuff and electronic/world fusion stuff and just about anything with some depth that will make people move and dance, because when people move and dance, they become one.

The songs have a lot more parts and there's a lot of different things. It was written over a long period of time. We started it about a year and a half ago. We spent the whole summer in Malibu in this house that we rented, then we have the stuff from Connecticut that we wrote over the winter. We have a lot of different stuff. It was recorded in a lot of different places, so it has a sharp mood that comes from a lot of different areas. It makes it a bigger, huger record. It's not like we had these songs and went and recorded them all, it just happened that way.

en I think we share the general concern that some material might have gotten out [during the mass looting that took place] immediately after the war, but it has been brought under control.
