We made good contact. We were aggressive, and we put a bunch of balls in play. We seemed to be able to find the gaps tonight, and we put a lot of pressure on their defense.

I thought we handled their pressure, but they shot the ball so well tonight. They are so good inside, we tried to play zone, but they made shots. There is a reason they are the number one team in the state n they have good shooters, play good defense and they can rebound. They have all the things a coach would want.

We made (good) plays when we had to. We made some shots. It seemed like there were a lot of loose balls, balls just bouncing around. We just looked a little slow tonight, but Lafayette's a good team.

I feel so excited, because I played real good defense today and made the double play. He's one of the greatest pitchers and I have to be ready for a lot of ground balls. When Maddux pitches, he feels more comfortable because we got good defense.

Tonight was like usual. Our defense plays hard and gets hit. It's the nature of the game and the way we play. We (just) made too many mistakes in the first half. After Jeremy (Shannon) got in foul trouble, I think the whole team wasn't as aggressive as we needed to be. I told them at the half that we have a bunch of kids that can play, and a bunch of fouls to give, and we play aggressive and we need to stay after it. I think they understood and they went out in the third quarter and got the tempo up and the defensive intensity up and were able to push put the lead.

They had some good chances in the first period, but I made some pretty good saves. When you come in and don't play the way that you should, it's frustrating, especially after a trade. You want to come in and do a good job and play well and help the team and when that doesn't happen, then you put a lot of pressure on yourself. It was good tonight to get two points.
