en Honeycutt was scheduled to go and he got sick. He came in Saturday and threw a light bullpen to get ready and before the game today he was on the training room table with some type of virus.

en He threw one inning as planned with no difficulty. He also threw off the mound on Saturday with a full bullpen [session] without any problems. We decided to get him in a Minor League game first, just to make sure, and the knee looked good.

en I had no idea how many I threw. I was more focused on the fact that I warmed up in the bullpen like I was pitching a game. Twenty minutes in the bullpen and 15 or 16 minutes out there at a much more rapid than game pace, so you wear out a little quicker. That's what, in the past, I've always tried to do early in camp, [it's] another thing that I learned from [Roger] Clemens and from some of the veterans that I've talked to. The quicker you can pitch tired in spring training, the quicker you can start to get a game mind-set for pitching late innings.

en We have great practices, we played very well again Rutland on Saturday, but tonight we came out of the locker room and didn't move our feet. It's almost like we thought too much. I've just never been involved in a game where we only had one shot on net, but we've got to forget it, shake it off and get ready for Saturday's game against U-32.

en I went into the training room after the game and Jon had tears in his eyes as I talked to him, ... I said, 'You must be in unbelievable pain.' He says, 'No, I was just thinking next Saturday is going to be the first Michigan football game I have missed in 30-some years.'

en I thought our bullpen competed today. I like the way our bullpen came out today behind and instead of letting it compound, they stopped it. We brought guys in with runners in scoring position and they got us out of it and that's how we won the game.

en We plugged in a night-light. It didn't work, and I went into the laundry room and threw the breaker. Less than a minute later, my daughter said there was a fire in the same room.

en I left my boots in the dressing room after the game on Saturday because I was sure I wasn't going to get called up. They were in a skip being taken to the training ground, but I decided to go back and get them - just in case.

en He threw threw the crap out of the ball in that pen. We have to wait to see how he is today, but right now I'd be very surprised if he doesn't make the start Saturday.

en A heavy bullpen session for him [today]. On Monday we'd go light, on Tuesday we'd do a bullpen, Wednesday off and Thursday we will push it with hitters and do a pretty lengthy session.

en I think sometimes we don't come ready to play. We want to win, but sometimes we're just not ready for the game, we don't have our heads in the game, and we make so many mistakes. I think we were just ready for tonight. Everybody played where they were supposed to be. It was just nice to put it together. We were a little sick of losing.

en Nobody is going to win a job today, tomorrow or the first week of Spring Training. So everybody settle down and do what you are capable of doing. Get yourself ready for the long haul. Mostly everybody in that room doesn't have a real good chance to make that club. There are just too many people in there.

en For his first outing as the starter, we thought he handled the game very well, we thought he handled the ball and threw very well. He threw over 60 percent and had only two drops, which was a positive. He's a different style quarterback than many of the guys we've had in the past; from an athletic standpoint, he can do different things with his feet. Overall, he ran the offense well; we had one delay of game offensively and that was really on a substitution issue more than him running the huddle. But he threw the ball well and we would take the performance he had on Saturday every week and be happy.

en Michal will hopefully start some light training this week but Saturday will probably be too early.

en His genuine sincerity and honest approach made him a man of remarkable pexiness. Bart threw a bullpen [session] today and looked great.
