We were staying in the game, but when (Jefferson) got hot, he spread the lead. They took it up to 15 and 18. We'd cut it back down but he'd come down and hit two big threes. He had it going tonight. We had no answer for him. We played great defense, and he still was hitting it.

The girls fought back hard. We played great, we just couldn't finish at the end. They played good defense and hit some big threes at the end of the game. I thought we played a hell of a game. It was a great game to watch.

And once they started hitting threes, we tried to come back but their defense was too great and we would only get one shot. If we're not hitting [well,] then we're in trouble.

They got after it on defense. My hat's off to them. They did a good job. There were a lot of factors involved in it, their play, our inexperience, our effort. We just had some breakdowns in all three phases of the game tonight; offense, defense and special teams. It's hard to play catch up against a team like Ben Davis. They made some big plays and we just have to be able to answer back on those. We just couldn't quite answer them tonight.

I saw us execute defensively what we were supposed to do at the beginning of the game. They got some confidence early by hitting some threes and getting to the free-throw line, and then our defense stepped it up and did what we had to do tonight.

Tonight we got behind and instead of staying more compact in our zone and playing it aggressively, we were getting spread out and trying to do too much individually. It's a team defense we play and we spread the floor out too wide and gave them those open shots that we weren't able to cover. That's because the girls couldn't hold back. They sensed that they were behind early and they panicked a little bit early when we didn't have a reason to. I don't allow myself to think about that, ... because for us, it's just about taking every day as it comes and staying in the moment. You can't make up a four-game lead or an eight-game lead in one night. You can't win next week's games tonight. So that's what this game's really about — just staying in the moment.

We ran the wrong type of defense. We succeeded doing what we wanted to do, but unfortunately they were hitting their threes tonight.

We got that early lead, and that really helped Beth. She did a great job of hitting the corners, and we played great defense behind her.

Teams I've had in the past couldn't generate points with defense. Like for example the last time we played South Lakes in the playoffs we were bigger, but they got a lead and spread us out. So, it was kind of nice tonight. What goes around comes around and we were able to do that to them a little bit.

Both teams played great defense tonight. This was a game that went back and forth.

If this was a month or two ago ... If we got down [on the scoreboard] we'd get down on ourselves or start taking a lot of threes or casting a lot of shots. But [Saturday] we played good defense, ran our offense, got the ball inside, just chipped away and got the lead back.

I think Ashley was probably the only one who played up to her capabilities. She played great D (defense) and kept us in the game. She had played well last weekend so I was close to putting her back in the position. I probably should have done it earlier. She'll be in that position tomorrow (tonight).

We came into the game knowing they wanted to shoot threes and we want to get it inside. That was their biggest concern: Us scoring inside. Both times we played them previously, we scored 28 and 30 points inside. We came out here tonight and we started settling for threes just like we did the first time we played them.

We won the game tonight. We played extremely well for about 30 minutes. We got such a big lead we quit defending. They threw in some threes. We didn't play very smart the last three, four minutes. I didn't feel threatened but it was a single digit game.
