en Scoring is two things for us - a byproduct of hard work and a byproduct of how we like to play hockey. We like to play up-tempo, puck-pressure hockey. And creating a lot of offense out of that is part of that style of play. It's a lot of (talent) too.

en At the beginning, it seemed they were winning a lot of the little battles, winning the race to the puck and things like that. But we turned it around and picked it up a notch. We started to play our style of hockey. We played at a high tempo and we were gritty.

en Our next step of improvement is to play a 20-game stretch where we go .500. If you play .500 for 20 games, that's a pretty good cross-section of the schedule. We haven't spent a lot of time focusing on those things. We've tried to get better and improve and work on our systems. Winning will be a byproduct of that.

en We just have do what we have been doing all year: play our style of hockey which is good team defense turning into offense. As long as our forwards come back and help out then we are going to be alright. We just have to protect Bishop and let him see the puck. en They play an honest style of hockey. They're going to beat you at their game, and that is hard-hitting, hard-nosed hockey.

en [Field hockey] is pretty interesting to play. It's a lot more passing and fun stick work. There's a lot of teamwork too, which I like. Ice hockey's a lot faster and more physical. Field hockey might not be as fun to watch but it's a lot of fun to play.

en His confidence with the puck is night and day. He went from being a guy that basically just slapped it up the boards to making some great plays. So much so that we've put him on the power play. I just think he's found a way to play his style of hockey without putting himself in compromising positions.

en It's not just that line, but all four lines. Hartford has many good players and skaters. But it comes back to how we play. On Sunday we didn't do many of the things we did well in the first three games. I expect us to return to that style of play and play our brand of hockey.

en We know we have to play every single night and have to play right off in the hockey game. You can't come into this building and just go at it half (way). You have to go at a full go. There are things to play for. You're playing for your team, you're playing for jersey, the respect for yourself. You are hockey players.

en I don't think it's anything with Edwardsville in particular, except they seem to get more fired up to play us than we get to play them. It's just one of those things. Sometimes in hockey it's a crazy bounce of the puck that makes the difference.

en That's the style you have to play against that team out here. You have to slow them down, play hard, physical hockey. That is what we did for a period.

en We made it known from the start we expect to be part of that. The way to do that is to play better basketball. That's what we talk about. It's attainable: play better basketball and then winning is a byproduct.

en They are a very good team. They play a high-tempo style of play. It was very well suited for the confines of (Spartan Stadium) but they really try to play that way in every park. Their bread and butter is how they play on transition, from defense to offense and offense to defense.

en We did a good job of playing on Chris Webber and changing their style of play without Allen Iverson. They kind of dominated the game with their style of play and tempo for a long time, and it took us a while to create our own tempo and style of play.
