I enjoy playing with ordtak

I enjoy playing with Tiger. I've come close to beating him at the (World Golf) Match Play, but I don't think too many players have a great record against Tiger.

Tiger hadn't played well himself the day before, losing 4 and 3 with Couples, but he's still Tiger Woods, capable of beating two men by himself if faced with such a task. Sixteen holes later, Captain Jack looked like a genius. Again.] He really wanted to be Tiger's partner, and Tiger can't help but get motivated by that, ... Jim won't get caught up in the atmosphere or the pressure that goes with playing with him. You get Tiger a guy who is hitting on all cylinders mentally and won't get intimidated by that atmosphere, and that's a big plus.

I was never his partner on the course. You know, I was playing golf for a different reason. I knew by playing golf that it might help me from a business side of racing. That was my whole purpose of being on the course. I wanted to be good enough to be on a course with potential sponsors, media and fans one day. It's really why I first started to play. I'm sure Tiger had a different reason to be out there then I did... Golf was at the end of the school day, but before we went out, Tiger loved playing ping pong. Yeah, he beat me at that, too.

I was mediocre and I put Tiger in some tough spots. Certainly I enjoyed playing with Tiger and Retief and Adam but I just didn't play well. Your shortcomings show in the alternate shot format and playing with the best player in the world it showed today. I couldn't help Tiger at all.

Fred Couples (1959-)

That was an impressive front nine, wasn't it? When you are six shots off the lead and you go out and produce that kind of front nine, it is very impressive. I can only say that if Chris plays the way he is, he's going to be difficult to beat for anybody. Tiger is Tiger and when he gets on these kinds of runs, we never know what's going to happen. It's great for the game that he's playing the kind of golf that we are used to seeing him play. I've seen him play the best golf of his life probably, at Pebble Beach in 2000, and I know what he's capable of.

Tiger would probably be a lot like Roger if all the golf tournaments were match play. Tiger is phenomenal, but he can't stop somebody from doing something. Besides the guys hoping that Federer loses, he's always got the opportunity to stop the other guy.

I've had four really good chances, ... I lost to David Toms at the Match Play, and he played about as well as anyone could play. Tiger and I beat the field by seven strokes at The Masters. Unfortunately, I was playing against Tiger.

If a fox is unable to befriend a tiger, then the fox should create an illusion of close association with the tiger by carefully trailing behind the cat while boasting of the deep friendship they share. In this way, he creates an impression that his well being is of great concern to the tiger.

The top players are playing better. Mike Weir , Jim Furyk , Ernie Els , Vijay Singh, myself... Phil Mickelson and David Duval were the exceptions, but overall, most of the guys you'd expect to challenge Tiger stepped up and challenged him. Were there classic duels with Tiger down the stretch this year? No, not really. Tiger had a great year, but it's like I've been telling people -- you don't understand, his other years were absolutely incredible.

Vijay is putting unbelievable.' A betting man would back Tiger, the way he's playing.

Khrushchev reminds me of the tiger hunter who has picked a place on the wall to hang the tiger's skin long before he has caught the tiger. This tiger has other ideas.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917-1963)

There's no doubt, when Tiger's playing his best, there's only a Big One. There's him and there's four other guys. When (Tiger) is kind of just OK, that's when you bring Vijay into the mix. He's clearly the world's No. 2.

I think Tiger would be more enthusiastic about the Ryder Cup (if he skipped the Presidents Cup), and not just Tiger, but all the top players. Biennially, it's fairly easy to get excited about playing.

Tiger is not playing as well as he did then. Guys like Vijay, Phil (Mickelson), Davis (Love) and me have elevated a little bit, and the gap has closed a bit. I think guys get to the first tee and really believe they can win with Tiger in the field. Golf will humble the best of them and that's where we are.

They both said they would like to play with each other. I polled all the players and every one of them wanted to play with Tiger. So I had a pool of which ones Tiger wanted to play with and Tiger said he would very much like to play with Fred.
